Starting my day with a nutrient packed green smoothie has proven to be one of the best life changing habits I have incorporated into my daily routine. I start the day feeling healthy and energised, and this small change has improved my digestion, energy levels and as well as the appearance of my skin and hair. I tend to have my smoothie as my breakfast in the morning and then if still hungry have another breakfast 30 to 60 minutes later.
Large handful of Organic Spinach or Kale – I personally prefer baby spinach.
1 Organic Banana
1/2 An organic apple, a sometimes substitute the apple with either mango or pineapple depending on what I have in the fridge
1/2 Organic Cucumber
1 Stalk of Celery
Optional: For a creamier smoothie add 1/2 an avocado
Optional: 1 Tsp of Spirulina – I am a huge advocate of the benefits of Spirulina. This algae is packed full of vitamins and minerals as well as protein and has helped me in the past to detox my body
Cut up the celery, banana, apple or optional other fruit into small chunks, add all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Drink straight away or put in a carry cup to drink on the way to work. YUM!
